Young Men and Cancer

I read an article recently that taked about some problems that arise from chemotherapy. The article talked about how young men could become infertile because of the chemo. Many patients are not even told about the option of sperm banking. Dr. Schover surveyed 200 hundred patients about thier expirence when disogned. 60% recalled being told something and only about half were told about sperm banking. Most of these young men still want to be fathers so the option of sperm banking would make sense. Another problem is cost to store it, the cost is about 1500 to 2000 for 5 years. I think young men should indeed have the choice of sperm banking because not only do you have to deal with cancer this is one less thing to worry about. You can read the whole article at www.cancer.org/docroot/NWS_1_1x_Young_Men_Arent_Told_About_Sperm_Banking.asp
