Heart Disease

Heart disease is one of the major epidemics that is plagueing the population. For most Americans, the first detection of heart disease is sudden death. Cardio vascular disease is the number one killer in the United States. It was estimated that in 2002 alone, 16.7 million people around the world died of cardio vascular disease, that equals to about 1/3 of all of the total deaths globally. By the year 2020, heart disease and stroke will become the leading cause of death. The number is estimated to increase by more than 20 million. A large 60%of the burdon of heart disease will occur in developing countries. It is costing our economy millions of dollars per year in hospital and insurance fee's. The average rate of hospital charges in the United States for: CVD:2190000; coronary heart disease: 629000; stroke : 356000. CVD was nearly 60% of the total mortality rate. Heart disease is not targeted towards any specific person. Everyone is at risk from the silent killer, heart disease.
