Church and state

The United States has an interesting way of separating church and state. Most cases the US execute a “civil religion” rather than a black and white view of what is church and what is state. In a survey conducted by FOX news, 77% of the polled believe the 10 commandments should be displayed on government property. This is clearly a blending of religion and politics, but Americans don’t seem to mind.

Our current president is known for framing his presidency around “value based voters” and his personal values. He has made it no secret that he is looking to overturn Row v. Wade based on personal moral decisions. You would think Americans would find this offensive, since it is impeding on their personal believes. However, 60% of registered voters (also by Fox news) say Bush talks about God and religion just enough, or not enough at all!

Surprising.
