car accidents

Car crashes are a major killer in the United States. In 2000, there were an estimated 6,356,000 car accidents in the U.S. There were around 3.2 million injuries and 41,821 people killed in accidents. When restraints were used, there were only 11,127 people killed as opposed to 33,551 when restraints were not used. 508,000 of these crashes were alcohol related.
