Teens abusing inhalants

For years, parents have only worried about drugs and alcohols. But statistics have shown that the overall drug uses have decreases in this country. It has shown that almost 23 million people have abused inhalants in their lifetimes. Inhalants are substances that could be found anywhere we go. Products such as hair spray and cleaning fluids could often be found in any household. Due to the fact that these products are so easy for the adolescent and teenagers to get their hands on, it is easier for them to use it. In the statistics in 2002, more than 833,000 aged 12-17 have sniffed for the first time. In 2003, 1.1 million of the 2 million that said they sniffed inhalants were from the aged 12 - 17. The increases in from the statistic show that adults are too concern about alcohol and drug uses, that they forgot to educated their teens about inhalants. Inhalants could cause brain and neural damages, as well as, many other side effects.
