The Bureau of Transportation Statistic reports that only 77. 58% of the total flights in the U.S. depart on time. The other 22.44% of the flights are delayed or canceled. The most common reason for delays originates from problems of the National Aviation System. Another major reason for the postponement of flights is the delay of an air carrier. Most people think that the primary reasons for delays are do to security issues and climate, when in fact this compose only 0.92% of the delays. It is interesting to see that the airport with fewer delays is Washington D.C. (DCA) with 89.10% of on-time departing.
