Teens Steroids

Steroids are synthetic substances similar to the male sex hormone testosterone. They do have legitimate medical uses to help people who don't produce enough testosterone on their own. Yet, teens today have a different use of it. As you may have already known, social appearances have always been a main thing when a person is in their teens. Teens today use steroids to help them build muscles and have a better fitness. Yet, without a prescription from a doctor, steroids are illegal. In the 2002 NIDA-funded study, it had measured about 2.5% of 8th graders tried steroids; only 3.5% of 10th graders; and 4% of 12th graders. Yet, most of these teens don’t know that steroid cause side-effects such as baldness and causes the livers to grow tumors and hearts to clog up.
