Is your job killing you?

Thinking about calling in "sick" to work today? Your job could potentially have adverse effects on your health. Over 30% of the respondents in the "Overwork in America" poll reported that they felt overworked on a regular basis. More than half of the people polled reported that they felt that they were overwhelmed by the amount of work assigned to them at some time in the past month. Nine out of ten people claim to not have enough time to get their work done. This has resulted in declining leisure time for America's workforce. In the age of technology, which allows the portability of work, and multi-tasking, which most Americans do without thinking, the workforce is working harder and more often than ever. While this might sound like good news for our GDP, it can result in high levels of stress in workers. The "overworked"-force even displays symptoms of depression, decreased productivity (due to mistakes made), as well as resentment toward their co-workers and/or employer. Not one of these conditions makes for a happy workplace.
